Making Learning Fun

At The York School of Holistic Therapies we like to make learning fun. You will study Anatomy and Physiology to diploma level and for many students who haven’t studied biology since they were at school, which might have been some years ago, this can feel quite daunting. We have designed our courses for all levels of background and experience in mind and try our best to make learning exciting and enjoyable.

Where possible we try to find visual, auditory and kinesthetic ways to help you learn for example using models and food to represent the component parts of a mammal cell or 5 layers of the epidermis of the skin or modelling a neuron with doughnuts and fairy lights!

We learn the following units with 2 multiple choice exam papers at 2 parts of the course.

  • The organisation of the body
  • Skin hair and nails
  • Skeletal system
  • Muscular system
  • Nervous system
  • Endocrine system
  • Respiratory system
  • Cardiovascular system
  • Lymphatic System
  • Digestive system
  • Urinary system
  • Reproductive system

We have produced our own booklets for you to complete these units along with information booklets in PDF form and text books to support your learning. There are no hidden extra costs for your learning Anatomy and Physiology and the price of the exams is also included. The pass mark is 70% and you have several attempts to pass although it is rare for a student to resit.
